Lucky Friday the 13th Night Market on March 13th!
"On February 1, 2022, Dale and Angela Homewood, along with Gerry Hensels and Lorraine McElroy bought the Central Elgin Fire Hall, with plans for a market, and a luxury apartment. The local owners transformed the two parking bays for fire engines into a vibrant artisan market and five months later, the Fire Hall Market opened for business on Canada Day weekend."

A NEW CHAPTER! with business as usual. This week you will see a "For Sale" sign go up on the Port Stanley Fire Hall Market - but that is the only change that is happening. Our eight wonderful business vendors will be open 6 days a week from 10-5pm Wednesday thru to Monday to serve you as they always have.
Just over five years ago, the fire rescue building in the Village of Port Stanley was put up for sale by the Municipality of Central Elgin. Two couples came together with an idea to re-purpose the space to offer new food, beverage and services to their growing community and support the local economy. Their vision was to re-develop the existing building into a year-round European inspired market to compliment the historic attributes of their Village. This vision was to offer local artisan products from businesses including a butcher, a baker, a florist & maybe even a candlestick maker;) The market owners are very pleased that this vision has come to fruition with business minded market vendors who have built community connections with fun events.
The market owners had a timeline to get the building upgraded and occupied with a market family in a 3-5 year timeframe, at which time they would sell the market and enjoy retirement. Well that time has come, and they look forward to finding a buyer/s who share in their vision and will continue to operate the market as a successful community gathering place and preserve the spirit of collaboration that makes this space so special within the Village, Elgin County and a destination in southwestern Ontario.
The Fire Hall Market owners are thankful of the supportive business community within the market and within the Village of Port Stanley, for the support of friends and family (our Port Family) and for the continued support of customers. See you at the market!

Shopping in the larger chains and online you can forget what this is like - hand selected merchandise, a personal shopping experience and business owners that are always up for a friendly chat.
Kettle Creek runs through the middle of the Village and provides a sheltered port for boating, sailing, commercial fishing and recreational water enthusiasts. Tens of thousands of people visit the village for a day trip, a mid-week or a full weeks’ vacation stay, as a destination in Southwestern Ontario.
More and more people are moving to beachside communities to embrace a smaller town pace of life with all the associated attributes of getting to know your community. Visit us at the Fire Hall Market in heart of the the beautiful year 'round village of Port Stanley.

The Fire Hall Market attracts village residents, tourists and day-trippers. Port Stanley has full-time residents and a recent migration of pre-boomer/boomers. The Port Stanley Festival Theatre offers year round live theatre productions, some of which are world premiere productions.
From May through October, beach-goers range from teenage to multi-generational families of all ages that enjoy the beach to cool off and stay for a week/month’s long vacation. Many people visit the village for something to do, and to enjoy a walk, grab something to eat or drink and shop. Port Stanley is a destination for Ontarians and Canadians alike, who flock to enjoy its Blue Flag Beach status which is 1 of the 23 beaches nationwide sharing this status by Swim Drink Fish Canada
